The Team at U-Clinic consists of professional counsellors and educators who successfully up-skill, both in Poland and in Ireland. All our counsellors are accredited and insured to perform their duties professionally. They are also regularly monitored.

Wojciech Białek

Addiction Counsellor, Centre Coordinator

Approach to therapy: cognitive-behavioural therapy and Motivational Interviewing

Masters in Sociology of Human Behaviours, accredited addiction counsellor, social worker accredited by CORU (SW00585). Completed a course in addiction counselling in the Polish-German Institute of the Blue Cross in Poland. In Ireland, he graduated with a Diploma in Addiction Studies at the HSE Arbour House in Cork. He is an ACI Accredited Counsellor (2016M01). In 2014, he completed the Auricular Detox Protocol (acupuncture in the outer ear) training course run by Philippe Pujade. He works under constant supervision of Pat Coughlan, a qualified counsellor.

Monika Deasy

Psychologist, psychotherapist

Approach: Gestalt therapy

Masters in Psychology and educational psychologist. She completed a course in Gestalt therapy at the Gestalt Institute of Ireland. She works as a psychotherapist in the U-Clinic. She is IACP accredited. Gestalt therapy is a form of psychotherapy that emphasizes personal responsibility and focuses upon the individual's experience in the present moment, the therapist–client relationship, the environmental and social contexts of a person's life, and the self-regulating adjustments people make as a result of their overall situation. Monika says, "Every single one of us at a different stage in their life go through something difficult. It is especially painful when we live abroad and we don't have enough support. Going to therapy may just be the best solution and a place of support."

Marcin Bogucki


Humanistic approach

Marcin Bogucki is a psychotherapist who graduated from the Middle University in London with a bachelors degree. Marcin works in humanistic-existential therapy, but he is not limited to it. Psychotherapy is mixed with theoretical and practical approaches of different forms of psychotherapy, such as the Acceptance and Committment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) or Person-Centred Therapy (PCT). He believes that every person is an individual being and we all need different types of therapy.

Maria Plamada


Approach: cognitive-behavioural therapy

Maria Plamada graduated with a BA in Psychotherapy from the Irish College of Humanities and Applied Sciences in Limerick. She also graduated with a diploma in Sociology from the University of Limerick and a Masters in Public Policy from the University in Timisoara in Romania. She is NAPCP accredited. Her goal in therapy is to provide a safe, judgment-free and supportive environment where people can express their feelings, difficulties and needs freely in order to get to know themselves better and improve their relations with themselves as well as others.

Agata Bartczak-Białek


In the process of certification of systemic psychotherapy accreditation

MA in Pedagogical Therapy. An experienced social worker and pedagogue. She has gained vast experience working with people with addictions and people who have been excluded from society or are at risk of exclusion, both in Poland and in Ireland. Founder and coordinator of a non-profit support club "Klub Abstynenta POMOST" in Ireland from 2011 until 2015. She completed a number of courses in Ireland run by the HSE, such as facilitation in group therapy, work model when working with SOAR, Strengthening Family Programme and many others. Additionally, she completed a course in psycho-oncology, solution-centered therapy, systemic therapy for families that have experienced trauma, loss or bereavement, systemic therapy for families with children with difficulties and disabilities and couples therapy. In our clinic, she works with , couples, families, concerned family members of people abusing substances. She has recently completed 3 years accredited course in systemic psychotherapy in Wielkopolskie Towarzystwo Terapii Systemowej in Poznan and is in the process of full certification.
